Introducing Pennine Social Care

We are a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about improving the lives of the people we serve. Our mission is to provide compassionate, person-centred care that empowers individuals to live independently and achieve their ambitions.

Established in 2013, Pennine Social Care now has more than a decade of experience supporting clients across the North of England from our base in the centre of Oldham, Greater Manchester. We are a CQC registered provider, with a range of services that includes domiciliary care, short break respite care, supported living, and community engagement work.

Operations Director Violet Gutu is proud to explain our vision: “Our goal is to be a trusted partner in the community, providing high-quality care and support that meets the changing needs of the people we serve. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect, dignity, and inclusion, and to working collaboratively with our clients, their families and other healthcare providers to achieve the best possible outcomes. We work closely with other organisations ranging from local authorities and health teams to charities and activity providers to ensure our service users have the best experiences available.”

Managing Director Elliot Sparks adds: “We are passionately committed to the principle that everyone deserves to live a fulfilling life, regardless of disability, illness or circumstances. On a personal level this is something we all believe in and have worked towards all of our adult lives, recognising that we support some of the most deprived communities in the UK. With that principle in mind, we offer a range of services that we truly endeavour to tailor to each person's unique needs, from personal care and support to social activities and crisis response.”

As a considerate, diligent and professional care agency, we provide invaluable in-house training to all staff, to ensure that we are confident in their abilities and they are fully compliant with all requirements of our industry regulators. Unlike many other care agencies we do not solely rely on online training, and we pride ourselves on providing extensive face-to-face training, delivered by professionals with relevant real-world experience, including Registered Managers, Responsible Individuals and Registered Mental Health Nurses.

This is reinforced with hands-on experience and assessment of practical care skills, ranging from adult and paediatric first aid, to safe moving and positioning techniques. Our range of training equipment includes wheelchairs, hoists, slings, slide sheets and other lifting aids, all designed to help staff confidently use their skills in the widest range of environments.

All of our qualified nurses and senior carers are trained in the safe administration and recording of medication, including specialist methods of application such as buccal. Whether you are an individual in need of support, a family member needing extra help to care for a loved one, or a corporate entity such as a private or public sector service, you can access our services throughout Greater Manchester, Lancashire, West and South Yorkshire, Cheshire, Merseyside and Derbyshire.

Crucially, we truly care about our work. All members of our management, administration and training team have significant professional, voluntary and personal experience of caring for others. What we do is not just a career; it is a vocational choice. We deeply understand the responsibilities of our profession and always strive to provide the very best.

Two Teams, One Vision

We have two distinct departments within the company, each specialising in serving different client groups.

Pennine Independent Steps is our service for individual service users. Here for early years through to elderly care, Pennine Independent Steps is about providing one-to-one assistance to help individuals live their best lives. We work directly with individuals and their families or other support networks to build a holistic picture each person we care for, and this informs everything we do to support them. This service is available when commissioned by the local authority, can be funded by a personal budget, or our services can be engaged directly by clients who are in a position to self-fund their care.

Pennine Social Care Staffing Agency is our health and social care staffing service, through which we provide our expertise to residential and nursing homes, supported living services, hospitals, day services and other organisational clients. Pennine Social Care Staffing Agency offers a friendly 24/7 on-call service for booking either in advance or at short notice, and has a reputation for building genuine trust with our corporate clients. Our success rate for covering shift requirements for skilled healthcare assistants, support workers, registered nurses is second to none.
