Adult Supported Living
Pennine Social Care provides CQC-registered adult supported living services for people with a diverse range of needs, helping individuals to live as independently as possible within their own homes and communities. We recognise that everyone is different, with their own aspirations, abilities, challenges and preferences, and we are committed to providing support that reflects each person's individual circumstances.
Our service supports adults across a broad spectrum of needs, from people who are relatively independent but benefit from assistance with everyday life skills, to individuals with more complex learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and associated health conditions. For some, this may mean practical help with budgeting, meal planning, managing household bills, maintaining their tenancy, accessing community services or managing their mental health. For others, it may involve more intensive, structured support with personal care, daily living activities, communication, health needs and maintaining their wellbeing.
We deliver support in a flexible and proportionate way, tailored to the needs of each individual. This can range from intermittent, planned support visits that help people develop and maintain their independence, through to more comprehensive arrangements involving daily support, overnight assistance or 24-hour care where required. Our aim is always to provide the right level of assistance, adapting our approach as people's needs, confidence and circumstances change.
Our supported living provision operates across a variety of environments designed to suit different needs and preferences. These include shared houses where individuals can develop social relationships and benefit from living alongside others, as well as individual flats and solo-occupancy accommodation for those who prefer or require a greater degree of privacy and independence. This includes homes managed in partnership with Pennine Mencap Supported Housing, enabling us to offer tailored housing arrangements that complement the support each person receives.
We place great importance on working collaboratively with families, advocates, health professionals, social workers, housing partners and the wider circle of care around each individual. By maintaining open communication and a shared understanding of each person's needs and goals, we seek to provide consistent, person-centred support that promotes wellbeing, builds confidence and helps people retain as much choice and control over their lives as possible.
Above all, our approach is about balancing independence with safety. We believe that people should be supported to make their own choices, develop new skills and experience the opportunities that come with everyday life, including through positive risk-taking. Through thoughtful planning, appropriate safeguards and ongoing assessment of individual needs, we work to ensure that people are enabled to live fulfilling lives, exercise their rights and achieve their potential, while remaining safe, supported and respected in their own homes and communities.
